Hydroponics at home - how it works

Hydroponics is a style of gardening that uses no soil. Instead, plants grow in a nutrient-rich water-based solution that is easy to maintain. The benefits of adopting a hydroponics growing system over a soil garden for your home harvest is huge, particularly for small areas.

How do I monitor the Nutrients and pH ?

Once a week it is recommended to check the water level in your water reservoir as well as check and adjust the pH and the Nutrients. This can be done with and pH and EC measuring strips or pens, which give you an instant reading. Simply adjust and retest until you're in the right range. For a mixed crop, we recommend a pH of 5.5-6.5 and an EC (Nutrient reading) of 1.5-2.0. For a tower full of one type of crop, we have the common ranges listed here, and on the back of our packaging.
