My Greens Hydroponic pH Lower, also known as pH Down. Active ingredient Nitric Acid (225g/L) in a 1L bottle with safety cap.
Your hydroponic nutrient solution should ideally sit around a pH of 6.0, though a slight shift—anywhere from 5.5 to 6.5—is perfectly acceptable. It’s normal for pH to move around a bit, so keeping it within that range is generally sufficient. Brief periods outside these limits usually won’t cause major issues, but it’s still best to correct the pH whenever you can. If the pH drifts too far, the plants may struggle to absorb key nutrients, which can slow growth and, in extreme cases, lead to nutrient starvation. Keep in mind that different plant species may prefer slightly different pH levels, so it’s worth checking the specific needs of whatever you’re growing.
pH is often regarded as the key which unlocks the doors to the various elements in a nutrient solution and makes them available to a plant. If a hydroponic system is not operated at the correct pH level then many elements will be unavailable to a plant in the correct proportions and deficiencies can become apparent.
My Greens recommends a nutrient solution pH range of between 5.5pH – 6.5pH for mixed crop types.
For pH Testing, we recommend the Bluelab pH Pen.
Directions
Shake the bottle well before using it. If using with a My Greens Hydroponic System (75L water reservoir), add half a capful and mix in well so it can blend evenly throughout the tank. Check the pH regularly until it reaches the level you’re aiming for. Repeat the process if needed to bring the pH into the correct range. Keep in mind that larger reservoirs will need a greater amount of solution to bring the pH down, so adjust the mixture based on the total volume of your system.
