What is the best hydroponic system for beginners?

A vertical hydroponic tower or NFT system is often the easiest option for beginners. These systems circulate nutrient-rich water through plant channels automatically, making them simple to maintain while still producing large quantities of vegetables.

Yes. Plants in hydroponic systems often grow faster because their roots receive a constant supply of water, nutrients and oxygen. This allows plants to focus energy on growth rather than searching for nutrients in soil.

How many plants can a hydroponic tower grow?

Most home hydroponic towers can grow between 20 and 30 plants depending on the design. Larger outdoor towers can grow up to 48 plants at once while using very little space.

Do hydroponic systems use a lot of water?

Been to the 2026 Waikato Home and Garden Show at Claudelands, Hamilton and saw a really cool Hydroponic Tower stand? That's us!
